The ruins of the fortress at Pisac are among the most interesting found in all of Peru. At the same time, the Pisac Market in the small town is a beautiful and cultural place to explore. Another appreciated, unique small town is Ollantaytambo, built on original Inca walls. Above, you see the temple or fortress constructed when the Spaniards arrived. Moray, just outside the town of Moras, is a fabulous but lesser visited Inca Site. Another beautiful place is the salinas in Moray, salt mines that have been in use since the time of the Incas.

The Sacred Valley is about a 90-minute bus ride from Cusco, the capital of the Inca Empire Cusco. The climate is warmer than in Cusco due to the lower altitude (2800 meters).
